Professor KimoFerreira will be coming to CCMAA March 12 to do a seminar, with a main focus on weapon defense from a Kempo-jutsu perspective. During his (well over) 35 years in the martial arts, Professor Ferreira has studied many styles. Dedicating his time and efforts to spreading his own art of Kempo Jutsu, Professor Ferreira has taught seminars in North America, Japan and Europe. His seminars are open. Ideas and concepts are shared through the practical applications of Kempo Jutsu techniques. The history of Kempo is covered at seminars, as well as weapons arts and how they apply to Kempo. In particular, Professor Ferrira emphasizes the use of the stick and knife.

To add to the seminar, Sifu Jesse Dwire IV will present kempo animal techniques. Master Dwire started his training in 1989 with Sigung Rudy Duncan in Camillus, NY. He has since trained with a variety of notable kempo masters, and is head of the Dragon-Phoenix schools of Kempo.

The seminar is from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on March 12th. Paperwork will be available soon (check back often). The fee will be $55 for advance registration prior to February 21st, 2010, and $65 thereafter. Russ Whittaker received his black belt recently after an arduous 16 year journey. When work interfered with making it to class, he spent hours in private lessons. When he moved away, he searched and sought instruction, continuing to practice all along. We salute his dedication, and wish him well as he continues his path learning in the martial arts.

We promoted Kai and Henry to Mini- Dragon Yellow. Congratulations guys! The mini-dragon curriculum is a developmentally appropriate set of skills that prepares our youngest for martial arts training. 

Cape Cod Martial Arts is pleased to announce that Professor Feliciano ‘Kimo’ Ferreira will be joining us on May 15th, 2009 to bring more of his unique style of Kempo-Jutsu to our school.
